Lego Movie: questions

How did the film’s distribution and circulation reflect the target audience?

There was a lot of money put into advertising which would make it attract the target audience because the money put into this was used to make it all look very appealing. Posters and billboards were made, and the movie paired up with many companies such as the 'NHS' and 'confused.com to create ad breaks to celebrate the release of the new movie. Even though the Lego movies target audience was primarily younger, their secondary audience (the parents/ grandparents) also watched the trailers and saw the posters and could also get excited to watch the movie with their children.

How did the film industry reflect the society in 2014 when it was produced?

Within the Lego Movie they used Lego blocks which have been around since 1934 which meant parents and grandparents were able to reminisce on the times that they played with lego, whilst the primary target audience could see these old characters and purchase them just like their parents did. This could have resulted Lego to bring back some of the old blocks that they used to produce and also some new ideas as well.

The movie is now available in 3D which shows how technically advanced the industry has become since back when the film was produced. As well as that the movie is also available online meaning you don't even have to go to the cinema to watch the movie anymore.

  1. Please look over this question:

Think about how films are now distributed and how that was reflected with the release of 'The Lego Movie'
